Over 30 community volunteers, UMSL students, and Master Gardeners participated in this year's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service at Mr. Whiting Community Garden. Thanks to dedicated volunteers, the garden is ready for the spring. But, what is a community garden without gardeners? We are looking for 2-3 dedicated, passionate volunteers who can devote at least one half day per week to general weeding, planting, and harvesting. We have four raised beds (see pictures below) available for the public.
-Gardeners must buy their own seeds
-Gardeners must maintain their beds and help weed common areas of the garden
-Gardeners must donate a portion of their produce to a nearby community organization
Wouldn't it be a shame if this beautiful green space went to waste? Contact Eliza Murray at 314-361-9406 or Heidi Morris at email@example.com to learn more.
